  • Use examples to illustrate your points: Is there a five-time winner of The Employee of the Year Award? Provide vivid examples to illustrate your point of a strong and successful workflow. You can also add details of the company’s accomplishments when all hands were on deck to measure against the otherwise. Appraisal emails are not meant for praise alone. It should aim to poke around your staff’s weakness and aim to replace strength where there is frailty. 
  • Provide actionable feedback: Feedbacks are the most important part of appraisal emails. However, you should make your emails something the employees can work with. Don’t overwhelm them with work. Dos and Don’ts of Writing an Appraisal Email

Employees should treat self-appraisals as a chance to highlight their achievements during the year or the previous years and the way they contributed to the growth of the organization.
